This Year's Model Updates:

The Hyundai Santa Fe has been redesigned for the 2007 model year. Compared to last year's model, the new Santa Fe is larger, safer, more powerful and more luxurious.

Pros:
  • Upscale interior with high-quality materials, competitive price, long warranty, many standard safety features, optional third-row seat.
Cons:
  • Overly firm ride on SE and Limited trims, automatic transmission sometimes slow to respond, unimpressive brakes.

  • We Love Our Santa Fe - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe

Traded a Mazda mvp van for the Santa Fe... White... Se model. For the price.. You get a lot for your money. Great style and a great smooth ride. We have 18 in tires which helps. Controls inside are easy to use and easy to find which my wife likes a lot. Our highway mileage on interstates driving to Florida is about 22 - 23 miles per gallon... Less of course around town. But we love the Santa Fe and are impressed by it. We chose the 6 cylinder for added power. This suv also has 6 air bags and a great safety rating. Would we get another one... Absolutely.

  • Good vehicle overall - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe

We bought the vehicle used with 125,000 miles and owned it just over 2 years. The mechanics of driving the car were great! The main problems were 3 of 4 doors stopped unlocking with remote, and door to gas tank had to be manually opened pulling cord in cargo area. And occasional problems with brake lights and turn signals.

I have had many new cars over the years and this one is right at the top of the list. It is so much fun to drive, that I almost hate to arrive at my destination. The handling, quietness, & power are above expectations. Gas mileage is better than I expected averaging over 23. I do baby it though and a lot of it has been highway miles.

  • Mileage Concerns - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe

I have read a lot about different owners obtaining either normal or low mileage with the SF. My vehicle (2.7L- 4sp auto)is rated for 24/20. If driven carefully, coasting, no jackrabbits, moderate 50 mph speeds, I have obtained 30 mpg on long trips. My normal is around 22 mpg. So much depends on your driving style. For those with low mileage, get the lead out of your shoes.

  • Great crossover for the price - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe

I just bought this a few days ago for my wife after trading my 12 year old Isuzu Trooper in. The Santa Fe feels decidely different than the SUV - it feels much more like a car, and the car chassis build is the clear reason. Its taking me a while to get used to the lower seating compared to the Trooper, reduced powwer and somwwhat limiting rear visibility so far. But those are areas I feel I can get accustomed to - its a differrent vehicle after all. The Santa Fe handles well for its class, feels luxurious for the price on the inside, has modern styling, provides good fuel economy for the class, and is fun to drive around and do regular chores in.

  • Love my Santa Fe - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe

Did a lot of research and comparison shopping before purchasing our Santa Fe. So far, we just love it. It handles great (have driven in snow, on ice, on highway, heavy traffic, etc.), and it is fun to drive. The small turning radius is better than any other car I have driven. I was skeptical about buying a Hyundai, but am extremely happy with my decision. Gas mileage is better than advertised. It has good power and feels very safe.

  • Perfect SUV - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe

Bought 2007 SF SE with no option packages. Priced as a family sedan, this amazing SUV (or CUV, call it whatever you want) performs as a high-priced Lexus! Fuel economy is OK, not great but cmon, this is sport utility with 3.3L engine. Dont expect to get 28-30 miles per gallon because its not a economy car. Just buy it and enjoy it!!

  • No complaints...except for the way it eats tires. - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe

I didnt see a place in the ratings for that, but it seems the Santa Fe has a penchant for tires. Something I read on another forum about the way the AWD has a natural toe-in or something. Whatever...I never seem to get more than 35,000 miles out of a set of tires, which is expensive as hell with 18" wheels. Other than than, this car has been a gem. My friends bought an Infinity Crossover the same year, for $25,000 more, and were shocked...wouldnt have spent the extra money if theyd known the Hyundais were so nice. But Hyundai was still working the "cheap" reputation back then. No longer. Weve been looking at a Vera Cruz now, but new models are due so I think well wait to upgrade.

  • 07 Sante Fe is a winner - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe

This vehicle is worth every penny I paid for it. The exterior body design is such an improvement over past Sante Fes. The interior is well laid out and uses quality materials. Leather Seats on the limited are more comfortable than the cloth seats. All the built in safety features make it very insurance friendly.
